A Cozy Christmas Book
Sleigh Bells for Dry Creek, by Janet Tronstad, is a lovely, cozy, next-to-the –fireplace kind of read.  Tronstad continues her Dry Creek saga by focusing on a mother, Gracie; and her son, Wade who have returned home after nine years away.  Since Gracie had confessed to a murder and had served jail time, the neighbors responded to their return with mixed feelings. All Gracie wants is to have Christmas at home.  The story is about how old relationships are reconciled as the two attempt to restore their lives.  Enter Amy; a spirited lovely girl who is the next door neighbor and who was once involved with Wade.

The reader is immediately drawn to the dynamics between the mother, son and neighbor girl.  Tronstad develops the characters in such a way that one is immediately in love with all of them.  The setting, a tiny snowy town in Montana, sets the stage for Christmas magic.  Unexpectedly, intrigue enters the picture and the reader is left with many questions that need to be answered. Don’t peek at the end and ruin the surprises.

If one is not familiar with the Dry Creek series, this is the book that will sink the hook and create a desire to devour all of the other books in the series.

You Won't Want To Put This One Down!!!
New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton’s latest book, The Heart of a Killer, is a suspense thriller that will have you biting your nails from the very first page.  The prologue, which tells of a horrifying incident involving five teens, effectively sets the scene and the pace for the entire book.

After twelve years have passed, the five are reunited to face one of the most sinister villains to grace a story line, who is apparently stalking each one of them.  Check your windows and door locks before you settle into your easy chair for a good read, as this book will challenge the nerves of even the lion-hearted .

Burton manages to pack suspense into every page. You will fall in love with her believable characters.  The plot presents the reader with many twists and turns, so, even if you think you have figured out who the villain is, keep reading, there are surprises ahead.  Everyone is suspect.

But, in spite of the intensity of living in constant danger, heated passion blossoms into a love that cannot last.  Or can it?  Burton satisfies readers’ needs for the thrill of danger balanced by the thrill of passion.  This is a must read!

One last word to the wise, do not be tempted to peek at the end, because it will kill the suspense and the surprise ending.

Riveting Suspense Novel
Dana Mentink’s new book, Buried Truth, published by Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense line, is an action-packed thriller that any reader will find difficult to put down.  The book is well-written, is a fast read with believable characters, and has a gripping story line with many plot surprises along the way.
The reader is plunged immediately into the depths of suspense and mystery from the very first page and there is rare opportunity to come up for air as the intensity and danger build.  In the first chapter, the tension mounts as the hero finds himself and everyone he loves in grave peril.
His reunion with a past girlfriend only serves to draw her into the vortex as well.  As his friends and family team up to help fight the threat, there is a race for time as an ex-con terrorizes them while drawing them into his sick agenda.
When the tension is finally resolved, a bizarre twist to the story is revealed as yet another character is found to be harboring a dangerous secret.
This book successfully escorts the reader through the complications of relationships.  There is an emphasis on the need to turn to God for help and strength, especially when it comes to issues of forgiveness.  Many relationships are healed throughout the story and the reader is left with a deep sense of satisfaction and resolution.
The author speaks of the next book in the series and the wait for this book will be difficult as one anticipates joining this delightful family once again for the next great adventure.
I highly recommend Buried Truth to anyone who enjoys a gripping suspenseful romance, with a deep Christian message.
